David grew up on the Elk River in Port Herman Maryland,
learning all about wildlife and fishing from his grandfather, Robert
Biddle. David has been carving most of his adult life under the
tutelage of his stepfather William Veasey. He is from a family of
woodcarvers, his brother Michael Veasey, and sister Tricia Veasey,
are award-winning wildfowl carvers. Another family member,
David's uncle Patrick Biddle, is also an accomplished carver.
Kathryn started carving twenty-one years ago after she met David,
and he became her teacher. For a couple of years they both worked at
Veasey Studios and then ventured out on their own. Over the years
they both worked at other jobs but have always come back to carving.
